What Makes Goat Milk Soap Different?
  For hundreds of years goat milk soap has been treasured for the qualities associated with goat's milk; capric, caproic and caprylic acids.  These ingredients are often added to commercial soaps, while goats' milk has them all.  The pH is similar to human skin's pH, and the lactic and lauric acids help with soothing and cleaning sensitive skin.

What makes Surfing Goat Soaps Different?

  First off, I believe it's our goats. Their particular breed, combined with the care and the environment here has helped them stay healthy, and that helps them produce high quality milk. 
  Technically goat milk soap can be made with glycerine with a little added goat milk powder.  People can buy a "goat milk base" which someone else formulated and they pour it into a mold and call it "farm made."  Others use powedered milk mixed with water, to get those nutrients into their soap.
  Surfing Goat Soaps is made with Hames & Axle Farm goat's milk. The only water we add is if it is part of a recipe, such as a Green Tea soap.  We make it the "old fashioned way," cold processed, cured for at least a month and hand cleaned and wrapped. 
Does it lather? 

  Yes, though the exact amount of lather depends upon the oils used in it.  I feel that lather is important, but it shorts the "life" of a soap, as more soap is lost in making the foam, rather than going to the user's skin.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?
  Technically I'm not allowed to make such claims. But I can tell you that I have had several doctors recommend goat milk soap to their patients. Some of those physicians are my customers.

What's your favorite?

  I usually answer, "I like them all, or I wouldn't make them." But I do have my favorites based upon the season. In the winter, I use Lavender Lanolin. In summer when I need to deal with summer sweats, I like FaceSaver.  Recently I've started using our PI Soap, when I have a mosquito bite, or very itchy skin.
