We have long been aware of the concerns about plastics. What do they leach? How stable are they? Since they are petroleum product, is there a way to replace them with more environmental awareness? Phthalates were the first thing we addressed when we started selling beyond our doorway. They are additives, usually used as preservatives in personal care products and in some food. But they are also endocrine disruptors, meaning that they mimic estrogen and other hormones that may be related to issues such as cancer, premature puberty, and other health issues. They have been declared legal, but if there are alternatives, I'd rather support them. One reason we avoid plastics where we can, is because phthalates, and BPA are found in plastic bottles.
