Soap as a Stressbuster

Whether it's a hot shower, or a warm bath, getting a chance to wash off the stress is great. Every day, for me at least, I worry about things I can't control, those I wish I could, and those that I can control but probably mess up. I also love to help people, especially those, who like me, struggle with challenges in mental health.

With Surfing Goat Soaps our soap, and Caprenity, it is our goal to give our customers a chance to relax, not to worry, and if desired, a chance to walk away from the challenges we face. Having a corps of Knights of the Round Bale who can handle the problems that nature faces, and the opportunity for Magic to solve problems gives me joy, and hope.

I don't make soap for beauty reasons. I make it for health reasons. For your health, for ours, and for the Earth, as well. I don't make soap for shelf-sitting, though plenty of ours wind up that way. I make it to give users a chance to relax, smile at the thought of a silly goat helping them, or to provide a place where their imagination can run free. When time comes for you to switch out your molded soap, use it. Don't toss it. Remember why it made you smile. Recall who gave it to you. Savor the things that you love about the ideas behind it. It's more than a gift for your heart, though. It's a gift for your body and soul, too. Caprenity isn't a solution to the world's problems. It's not meant to be. It's a playground, a space of hope, and a place for a little "consciousness raising" as people realize how they effect the nature in their lives. It is a silly place, but who doesn't need silly sometimes. I know it's not high literature. It's not meant to be. It's meant to be a distraction, a respite from stress, and a reason for people to let someone else do the worrying.

Caprenity is also a place where our soaps can have a voice, through characters, through actions, and through a window into the world of a working farm. We work, not just for ourselves, but for everyone who buys our soap, might by our products, or just lives on this planet and needs to be reminded that humans are not above nature. We are part of it. We try to make sure that connection exists through our "Market Special," price of three bars of soap for twenty dollars. We try to remember to say "Thank you, and the goats say thank you, too. You're purchase just bought the herd a bag of grain." You do make a difference, every day.

For me, playing with scents, watching simple goat milk turn into a product that has helped someone with a chronic skin condition, or a sleepless night, gives me joy. I hope it does for everyone who uses Surfing Goat Soap.

We are not a fancy soapmaker. We are farmers who make soap. Our goats aren't high producers. They are every day workers who make us smile daily, and the soaps are one way we can share that joy with you.
