A Timely Soap for a Timeless Tale

Recently I was speaking to a little girl about our soaps, telling her some of the stories behind them. She was particularly interested in horses, and was intrigued by this one.

I asked her if she knew the story of the Trojan horse, and she said she never had. Her mother was standing nearby and shook her head, which I took as a sign that it wasn't on her radar. So, I tried to tell her the story, without the whole telling of the Odyssey. "There's an old story about a king who was trying to take over another castle, and decided to sneak his soldiers into that castle. He built a wooden horse, put the soldiers inside, and gave it to the king who he was trying to conquer. They wheeled the horse into the castle and waited until nightfall. Then the soldiers came out of the belly of the horse, and they tried to take over the castle. It didn't work, but it was a pretty neat way to sneak in." (Much abridged, but you get the jist.) That got me thinking about the upcoming movie "The Odyssey," and how this soap was suddenly timely again. If you're looking for a way to remind someone of the story, or to inspire them to read Homer's works, this is a great way to do it. We promise we'll only fill it up with our great Surfing Goat Soap, but it might conquer their dry skin, if they use it. If not, it's a pretty cool little statue for those who love the Classics, or horses.
